LIFE AND THE CALL.
After schooling Daniel worked briefly at the Accra Municipal
Council and then with a bossom friend called E.L. Quartey (of Koforidua
Technical College) he joined the Army in 1963. With higher education
qualification Daniel was drafted into the Military Academy to be trained as a
Commissioned Officer but the coup of 1966 brought the intake of that year back
to the barracks of the other ranks and they were never called back again. Why?
Perhaps because Major H.A.H. Appiah (B.O.D.) and Colonel Kattah (M.O.D) who
recommended him were no longer in charge of things. Well things were hectic in
those days. All the same his intelligence shone through as he was transferred
from B.O.D as a store man Grade II to Printing Administrator Grade I (M.O.D).
Daniel rose through the ranks (a Sergeant) a head of the Monotype section of the
Printing Press of the Armed Forces and assistant Chief Compositor. Daniel was to
top it all by being appointed the Captain of the Ministry of Defense Football
team. A team that starred three of the Nations very top stars (Ohene Brenya of
Kotoko, Joe Ghartey of Hearts and Acquah of Susubiribi). In 1968 Daniel married
his childhood sweetheart Lena Koshie Maanan. Before that Daniel has teamed up
with friends (George, Rockson and Frank) to form his own pop Group the Super
Channels. He would later produce a hit record “Monkey loves Banana”. Their first
born Sey died after 3 ½ years of birth and Daniel became critically ill after
that. In the process, he received a miraculous healing, and then called and
commissioned by the Lord Almighty to bring lost souls into His vineyard.
